Basic Engine Control Unit & Engine Modelling
Design and manufacture of an FPGA-driven engine control board, plus engine modelling in PSpice and MATLAB.
During my long-term control internship at Roketsan I carried out three connected pieces of work.
Basic ECU
An engine driver board was designed and manufactured from scratch; the control logic was implemented in VHDL on an Altera FPGA development board.
Engine modelling
The electrical behaviour of the engine was modelled at circuit level in PSpice and at system level in MATLAB, then simulated. Simulation results were compared against measurements on the board.
ADC board
A separate PCB was designed in KiCad for the selected ADC chip, covering the analog front end and reference voltage regulation.
